Covid Garden
Oil on Hardboard 10x10"
This is the first follow up to “5 Metal Scroll on Fire”. I want to make more decorative floral and leaf art entwined with glints of metal and animals. I chose bats well before the outbreak, but it was completed just as the pandemic reached the United States and experts claimed bats are the origin of Coronavirus. My plan is to incorporate more animals of ill repute and make them beautiful. Available as an 10"x10" archival giclee print. $25 |

Orchids need pollinators to reproduce but do not offer the reward of nectar. Bugs are attracted to colors, scent and mimicry that fool them into visiting their blooms. She is the personification of the sacred feminine in her flirting seductive aspect. Available as a 16”w x 20”h giclee reproduction on gallery wrap canvas. News of a suicide attempt of a teenage family member caused this vision to appear in my mind. Happily a complete recovery followed. This image was published on the back cover of Morbid Curiosity Magazine By Loren Rhoads. It was selected for the cover of Morbid Curiosity Cures the Blues, published by Scribner in 2009. Available on Amazon. Available as a 16”w x 24”h giclee reproduction on gallery wrap canvas. Contact Jane for print on demand order. $115, shipping included. |
The Space Cowboy and his SouvenirsOil on Canvas 24” x 36”
This character shows up in Gerald’s Game by Stephen King. At first I only wanted to paint the bones and jewels, but a friend pressed that I “have to do that guy!” It was a challenge because he is deformed by acromegaly, a condition I found more written descriptions for than visual. I photographed a model holding the box and chose the bones and jewels as described in the book using visual reference. This piece was awarded Best of Show at World Horror Con 2000 and Colorado Illustrators Show in 2002. Available as a 16”w x 24”h giclee reproduction on gallery wrap canvas.
